Dr. Hannah Monk Truehart, Development Manager

 

Violinist Dr. Hannah Monk Truehart has enjoyed a nearly twenty-year career as a performer, committed music educator, and effective arts administrator. Hannah was previously the Production and Patron Services Manager for Iris Orchestra in Germantown, TN and the summer program manager for Prizm Ensemble. She is excited to bring her administrative expertise into her new role as Development Manager for SoNA. 

Passionate about sharing her love of music with children, Hannah has received extensive Suzuki teacher training and is a recipient of the Suzuki Association of the Americas Certificate of Achievement Level I. She was also awarded the Distinguished Young Teacher Award at the 2024 SAA/ASTA conference. An advocate for social justice in the arts, Hannah was a 2016-2017 Fellow with the Memphis Music Initiative which supports high level music education in inner city schools in the Memphis area. The six summers she spent teaching at the prestigious Interlochen Arts Camp in northern Michigan was another highlight of her pedagogical career. 

As a performer, Hannah has played with many professional orchestras and chamber ensembles including the Jackson Symphony, Symphony of Northwest Arkansas, Prizm Ensemble, and the Elvis Live! tour orchestra. An avid soloist and chamber musician, she has performed in masterclasses with many distinguished artists such as the Juilliard Quartet and the Jerusalem Quartet. Hannah holds a Doctorate of Musical Arts from the University of Memphis, an M.M. in Music Performance from the University of Memphis and a B.M. in Music Performance from the University of North Texas where she graduated summa cum laude. 

Hannah grew up in the Northwest Arkansas area and was delighted to recently move back with her husband, cellist Carrington Truehart, and their daughter Sylvie.
