Families are invited to experience this familiar tale and iconic music with narration in English and Spanish.

Hear the classic symphonic fairy tale for children, Peter & The Wolf, which introduces listeners to the colorful instruments of the orchestra with a story that highlights vigilance, bravery and resourcefulness.

The Symphony of Northwest Arkansas and Fayetteville Public Library present a bilingual performance of the classic Children’s tale Peter & The Wolf set to the timeless music of Sergei Prokofiev in a quintet arrangement by Earl C. North.  This performance provides an opportunity for young people to experience this familiar tale and iconic music with narration in English and Spanish. The audience will be introduced to a variety of orchestral instruments which represent the characters in the story.

Performed by SoNA musicians and narration by Al Lopez and SoNA Board Member Jack Cleghorn.

SoNA Beyond rethinks the boundaries of what a symphony can do to innovate the artform, include new voices, and immerse SoNA in the Northwest Arkansas community – to give audiences an expansive view of what classical music is and who it serves.

This performance is part of the SoNA Beyond series, which showcases the vast spectrum of possibilities for classical music to reach audiences in new and innovative ways. SoNA Beyond presents a variety of concerts, programs, and other creative arts experiences that go beyond the symphony’s annual mainstage season of concerts. The new series features symphony musicians in creative ways, including chamber music performances, outdoor educational concerts, community partnerships, groundbreaking contemporary experiences, and more.

SoNA Beyond: Pedro y el lobo

Escucha el clásico cuento de hadas sinfónico para niños: Pedro y el Lobo, que presenta al público los coloridos instrumentos de la orquesta con una historia que destaca la precaución, la valentía y el ingenio. 

La Orquesta Sinfónica del Noroeste de Arkansas y la Biblioteca Pública de Fayetteville se unen para presentar una interpretación bilingüe del clásico cuento infantil Pedro y el Lobo, con la música inmortal de Sergei Prokofiev en un arreglo para quinteto de Earl C. North.  Esta interpretación ofrece a los jóvenes la oportunidad de experimentar este cuento familiar y su música icónica con narración en inglés y español. Se presentará al público una variedad de instrumentos orquestales que representan a los personajes del cuento.

 Presentado por músicos de SoNA, con la narración de Al López y Jack Cleghorn, miembro de la junta directiva de SoNA.

SoNA Beyond replantea los límites de lo que una orquesta sinfónica puede hacer para innovar la expresión artística, incluir voces nuevas e integrar a SoNA en la comunidad del noroeste de Arkansas, a fin de ofrecer al público una visión amplia de lo que es y a quién sirve la música clásica.

Esta interpretación forma parte de la serie SoNA Beyond, concebida con el fin de mostrar la vasta gama de posibilidades para la música clásica, transmitir a las audiencias de formas nuevas e innovadoras. SoNA Beyond presenta una variedad de conciertos, programas y otras experiencias artísticas creativas que van más allá de su usual temporada anual de conciertos principal.
